STRATEGY OF DEVELOPING YOUNG CHILDREN’S SELF REGULATION
PHENOMENOLOGY STUDY IN GROUP A OF RAUDHATUL ATHFAL ISTIQLAL JAKARTA

ABSTRACT
The objective of this research is to find depiction process of developing young children‟s self-regulation. This research was conducted at Raudhatul Athfal Istiqlal Jakarta, on February-May 2015. There are three sub focus was discussed, those are: (1) depiction of Young children‟s self-regulation at Raudhatul Athfal Istiqlal; (2) the method and strategies on developing young children‟s self-regulation; (3) factor that supported the success of developing children‟s self-regulation. It was qualitative research by phenomenology approach. The data were collected through participant observation, interview, and documentation. Data technic analysis was Miles and Huberman model.
The results indicate that: (1) the subjects‟ self-regulation showed the self-regulation was good. They have good ability to control their emotion and interaction with other. They could give attention on the activities. They responsible and obey the direction and rules, also cooperative; (2) the developing regulation was implemented by learning through playing that integrated with religious values through central and circle time. There are rules introduction and discussion in every activity. They are given responsibilities to be cooperative. There are scaffolding when needed; (3) there some factor that supported the success of developing children‟s self-regulation, these are: school roles on giving information of learning system to parents. Teacher guides the students. Parents actively participate on school‟s programs. Also, the supported facilities and environments.
