Peningkatan keterampilan menulis akademik bahasa Inggris melalui teknik pengajaran Dictogloss : penelitian tindakan program studi Teknik Imformatika di Program Internasional UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta

ABSTRACT
The objective of this research was to study the improvement of English academic writing skill through dictogloss teaching technique. It was a qualitative and a quantitative research with an action research method conducted at the International Program of Information Technology Department, UIN Syarif idayatullah Jakarta in 2012.The research was done in two cycles and carried out by researcher and a lecturer as a collaborator. Each action consisted of four phases of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data were collected through observation, document study and tests. The findings are in qualitative data analysis indicates that in each cycle the participants did enthusiastically, wrote very good essay reconstruction and werehighly motivated thus learning process run very well. Whereas, in quantitative data analysis shows the application of dictogloss teaching technique could enhance students’ academic essay writing skill that proved by students’ result. The passing grade was 70 % students should get band > 6. For the post-test circle I, only 20 % participants achieved band > 6 or equal with 20.93 score, however it increased drastically to 5 point to 25.27 or 73 % participants got band > 6 at the circle II.
