Pengaruh tes formatif uraian dan sikap ilmiah terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis (eksperimen pada mahasiswa kimia Universitas Indonesia)
ABSTRACT
The objective of this research is to find out the effect of essay formative test and scientific attitude toward critical thinking skills. It is a quantitative research with an experimental method conducted for chemical students in University of Indonesia.
Experimental design is treatment by level 2 x 2 with two ways Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) as a technical data analysis. The result showed that: (1) the critical thinking skills students who have tested by essay formative test of chemical process
is higher than students who have tested by essay formative test of chemical product, (2) there is an interaction effect of essay formative test and scientific attitude toward critical thinking skills, (3) the critical thinking skills students who have tested by essay formative test of chemical process is higher than students who have tested by essay formative test of chemical product for students who have high level scientific attitude, and (4) the critical thinking skills students who have tested by essay
formative test of chemical process is lower than students who have tested by essay formative test of chemical product for students who have low level scientific attitude. So, essay formative test should examine the competency of integrated knowledge, theoritical and practical, based on student’s scientific attitude to give strong effect toward their critical thinking skills.
