Pengaruh model pembelajaran Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending (CORE) terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa SMP Negeri 149 Jakarta
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran connecting, organizing, reflecting, extending (CORE) terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa di SMPN 149 Jakarta. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas VIII pada pokok bahasan lingkaran Penelitian ini menggunakan quasi experiment (eksperimen semu) dengan desain pretest post-test control grup design. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik two stage random sampling. Pengambilan sampel tahap pertama menggunakan purposive sampling dipilih kelompok sebagai sampel. Kedua menggunakan cluster random sampling untuk mendapatkan 2 sampel yaitu kelas eksperimen (pembelajaran CORE) dan kelas kontrol (konvensional) dari kelas terpilih sebelumnya berdasarkan kelas tersebut berasal dari populasi yang berdistribbusi normal, memiliki varians yang homogen, serta memiliki kesamaan rata-rata yang sama. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah instrumen kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Instrumen terdiri dari instrumen pretest dan posttest masing masing instrumen terdiri enam soal uraian. Sebelum instrumen penelitian digunakan, telah dilakukan uji validasi, reliabilitas dan taraf kesukaran pada instrumen tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil rata-rata nilai pretest kemampuan penalaran matematis pada kelas eksperimen 49,88, dan rata rata nilai pretest kemampuan penalaran matematis kelas kontrol yaitu 55,21. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa rata rata nilai pretest kemampuan penalaran matematis kelas kontrol lebih tinggi daripada kelas eksperimen. Perhitungan hasil rata-rata post-test kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa pada kelas eksperimen 84,03 sedangkan rata-rata hasil post-test kemampuan penalaran pada kelas kontrol hanya 81,02. Hasil uji-t berpasangan hasil pretest dan posttest kedua kelas menunjukan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa pada kedua kelas. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa maka dilakukan uji-t tidak berpasangan terhadap nilai gain ternormalisasi kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil uji-t tidak berpasangan menyatakan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol secara signifikan yang secara tidak langsung menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa Kata kunci: Model Pembelajaran Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting,Extending CORE, Kemampuan Penalaran Matematis Siswa
This study aims to determine the effect of connecting, organizing, reflecting, extending (CORE) learning model to the students' mathematical reasoning abilities at SMPN 149 Jakarta. This research was conducted in 8th grade on the subject of circle This research uses quasi experiment with pretest post-test control group design. The sampling using two stage random sampling technique. The first sample was taken using purposive sampling as the sample. The two used cluster random sampling to obtain 2 samples: the experimental class (CORE learning) and the control class (conventional) of the previous selected class based on the class came from normally distributed populations, had homogeneous variance, and had the same average equality. The research instrument used is the instrument of students' mathematical reasoning ability. The instrument consists of the pretest and posttest instruments of each instrument consisting of six description questions. Before the research instrument is used, validation and reliability of the instrument have been tested. Based on the average of pretest score of mathematical reasoning ability in experimental class 49,88, and the average of pretest score of mathematical reasoning ability of control class that is 55,21. This indicates that the average pretest value of mathematical reasoning ability of the control class is higher than the experimental class. The calculation of the average post-test of students' mathematical reasoning ability in the experimental class is 84.03 whereas the average post-test of reasoning ability in the control class is only 81.02. The result of paired t-test of pretest and posttest result of both classes shows that there is an increase of students' mathematical reasoning ability in both classes. To know the effect of CORE learning model on students' mathematical reasoning abilities, the unpaired t-test of the normalized gain score of the experimental class and control class is used. The result of unpaired t-test stated that the improvement of mathematical reasoning ability of experiment class students is higher than control class significantly which indirectly shows that there is effect of CORE learning model to students' mathematical reasoning ability Keywords: Connecting Learning Model, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending CORE, Student’s Mathematical Reasoning Ability
