his study aims to determine the effect Guided Method Note Taking (GNT) to the text Poem Writing Ability in Class XI at SMK Kampung Jawa, the Government Printing, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta. This research was conducted at SMK Kampung Jawa, the Government Printing, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, from April to May 2015. The method used is an experimental method to do the pretest and posttest two class groups. The population of this research is all class XI student of SMK Kampung Jawa, the Government Printing, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta. Sampling of this study random or random sampling to obtain experimental class and control class. Each class is taken a sample of 30 students who obtained based on data collected from pretest to posttest. Experimental class is a class that is treated in the form of methods Guided Note Taking (GNT), while the control class is the class that untreated Guided Note Taking method (GNT), but using conventional means, ie lecture and question and answer. Before analyzed, tested the sample data requirements that normality test and homogeneity test. Normality test using test Liliefors.
