Hubungan antara bimbingan belajar oleh orang tua dengan prestasi belajar IPS siswa di SMP Negeri 71 Jakarta

The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between learning guidance by parent with social studies learning outcome in Jakarta 71 Junior High School. This is a quantitative research which uses ex post facto method with correlational approach. Learning guidance by parent determined by distributed the quisionairre to 40 students in 9th grade taken as research sample. Meanwhile the social studies learning outcome of 9th grade students were collected from school document that is the social studies score report of 9th grade students in first semester of 2015/2016 school year. In this research, samples were taken by proportionate random sampling technique from every class in 9th grade.
In this research, found that the linear simple regression equation is The prerequisites analysis test used normality test with liliefors test obtained Lcount < Ltable that 0,1040 < 0,1401 shows that the data has distributed normally. The correlation coefficient of Product Moment from Pearson obtained that r = 0,669. Then the correlation coefficient significance using t-test obtained tcount in the amount of 5,556 meanwhile ttable is 1,686 so that tcount > ttable, so it means there is a significant relationship between learning guidance by parent with student social studies learning outcome. The calculation of determination coefficient obtained that about 44,76% of social studies learning outcome (Y variable) determinated by learning guidance by parent (X variable).
The result of this research that there is a positive and significant relationship between learning gudance by parent with student social studies learning outcome in Jakarta 71 Junior High School. That means the higher the level of learning guidance by parent may causes the student social studies learning outcome higher too. Otherwise, the lower the level of learning guidance by parent may causes the student social studies learning outcome lower too.
