This study aims to investigate the characteristics of the flame: flame heights, burning time, burning rate. This study used an experimental method. The polymer material obtained in the form of automotive dashboard, door cover, and front grille car in the form of a polymer ABS, PP, and EPDM. Further samples of polymer ABS, PP and EPDM tested according to ASTM D 635-03.
The results obtained from testing the characteristics of the flame is a flame characteristics on the polymer is laminar diffusion form, Polymers ABS has a flame heights: 10.33 cm, burning time: 225 sec, burning rate: 2.78 mm / sec. Polymer PP has a flame heights: 2.43 cm, burning time: 126 sec, burning rate: 4.88 mm / sec. Whereas EPDM polymers with the results of flame heights: 8.5 cm, burning time: 149 sec, burning rate: 4.71 mm / sec.
