INCREASING SOCIAL SKILLS THROUGH BETAWI’S TRADITIONAL GAMES FOR CHILDREN GRADE B1 IN AL KAUTSAR KINDERGARTEN JAGAKARSA, SOUTH JAKARTA

ABSTRACT
The objective of this research is to increasing children’s social skills in grade B1 Al Kautsar Jagakarsa, South Jakarta kindergarten through playing of Betawi’s traditional games.
Research method used action research, according to Kemmis and Taggart model which consist of four stages 1) plan, 2) action, 3) observation and 4) reflection.
The research consisted of 2 cycles and fourteen meetings.The data were collected through participant observation, the result of the field notes, interview and documentation.
The result of this research showed an increased social skills of children from the pre cycles class average is 53,5 up to 85,9 at first cycles up to 105,6 at second cycles.
The findings lead to the recommendation to playing Betawi’s traditional games continuously in order to have social skills for children. It is also recommended to improve the social skills of children can be done through Betawi’s traditional games .
