This research aims to determine the pattern of education of children in the family scavengers in Kampung Laskar, which was conducted in January until May 2016. The study focused on how the pattern of education of children in the family scavengers in Kampung Laskar. The method used is a qualitative study approach, the data obtained through observation, interview, and documentation. Collecting data in this study is done by selecting the informants who know the focus of research. Sources of data obtained from key informants that parents (family scavenger), Chairman of RT, Chairman of the LMP, Field Coordinator, Supervisor I, KOPAJA Coordinator, as well as core informants that family child scavengers who attended formal education.
The results showed that there are two patterns of education of children in the family scavenger in Kampung Laskar namely education pattern authoritarian and democratic. As for the parents who tightening on children's actions caused by the personality of authoritarian parents against children, while the pattern of democratic education, parents provide opportunities for children to express feelings, opinions, and experiences so that children can grow better.
