ABSTRACT

This study aims to improve the skills of the Crescent kick using the tools of rubber. The research was conducted in SMP Negeri 220 Jakarta Barat. The method used is the method of action research (action research) with quantitative data retrieval. Implementation of this research involves the coach Pencak Silat as a collaborator. This study was done 2 cycles, the first cycle and the second cycle and started with the initial observation. This study was conducted according to researchers, because of time constraints.
Cycle I realized through the actions I give the following results: 1) Students still no one has understood the concept of the Crescent kick Pencak Silat. 2) The attitude of students' views are still there looking down or up. 3) At the beginning of the movement phase and phase to kick off, the attitude of one hand the students still do not protect the pubic and not clenched. 4) the preparation phase and final phase, students' attitudes legs still do not shoulder-width apart. 5) The attitude of the student body there is still bent at the time of the preparation stage and the final stage.
Cycle II is realized through the actions II gives the following results: 1) Students already understand the concept of the Crescent kick Pencak Silat. 2) Students are able to improve the attitude of view focused toward the target. 3) Students are able to improve the attitude of one hand clenched in the early stages and stages kick off. 4) Students are able to improve the attitude of the foot at the preparation stage and the final stage with open legs shoulder width apart. 5) Students are able to do Crescent kick toward the target.

The results of this study showed an increase in the Crescent kick skills through the auxiliary rubber. Early tests students 'average score 4.43, the first cycle of the average value of 4.81 students and second cycle students' average score of 4.91. For the success of the exercise student learning outcomes, initial test is considered passed a number of 3 students (15%), the first cycle of students who otherwise managed a number of 13 students (65%), and the second cycle students who otherwise managed a number of 17 students (85%).
Thus, it can be concluded that through rubber tools can improve the skills of the Crescent kick
