Pengaruh bentuk soal dan motivasi siswa terhadap prestasi belajar siswa dalam keterampilan membaca mata pelajaran bahasa Jerman : studi eksperimen di SMAN 31 Jakarta

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research to know the influence of form of test and
student’s motivation toward the achievement of reading comprehension in
German language to find the difference achievement of its. The population of
this research is student Grade XII of SMA Negeri 31 Jakarta. Research
sample is student grade XII IPA 1 and XII IPA 3 SMA Negeri 31 Jakarta.
Obtained with random sampling.
Using the “true experiment” method with a “treatment by level” design,
this research consist of dependent and independent variable. The
independent variables are the form of the test and the student’s motivation,
while the dependent variable is the achievement of learning German
language for Reading Comprehension.
In order to obtain the data of student’s achievement in learning
German language, a test of German language is designed as the instrument.
Two ways ANOVA technique and “Tukey” test are used to analyze the
collected data. Before the data are analyzed, homogeneity and normality test
are applied to see whether the data meet the requirement.
The result of this research indicates that: (1) the different form of test
(Short Answer and Multiple Choice) significantly influence the achievement of
learning German language for Reading Comprehension, (2) an interaction
occurs between the form of the test and student’s motivation and their
achievement of learning German language, (3) a significant difference occurs
when Short Answer is applied to the group of students with high motivation,
and Multiple Choice is given to other group of students, and (4) there is no
difference between the group of students with low motivation to whom test in
Short Answer form applied and the group of students to whom test in Multiple
Choice form applied.
