ABSTRACT
APRINAL AFGANI. Effectiveness of Guided Discovery Methods and Play Methods for Learning Outcomes by Volleyball Students in Class VIII SMPN 2 Gunung Guruh Kab.Sukabumi: Physical Education Program Health and Recreation Education, Faculty of Sport Sciences, Jakarta State University, June 2017.

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of guided search learning methods and effectiveness of play methods on learning who pass volleyball in grade VIII students SMPN 2 Gunung guruh Sukabumi.
The implementation of this research using experimental method by using pre test and post test, ie two groups were given different treatment that is 26 samples with 13 samples of guided discovery method and 13 samples with play method.
The research instrument used validity test of volley ball, the data analysis technique in testing the hypothesis of this research using t test on taf (a) = 0,05 and exempt 2 (n-1).
From the final test results collected on the learning outcomes under the volleyball with the guided discovery method is the mean value = 64.92, the standard deviation (SDx) = 7.90, and the standard deviation of the mean (SDmx) = 2, 28. As for the negligence of the bottom volley with the play method is the average value = 50.76, the standard deviation (SDx) = 5.01, and the standard deviation of the mean (SDmx) = 1.44.
