Strategi Pembentukan Klausa Relatif : Studi Awal Kesemestaan Bahasa

Some languages in the world heve universal relative clauses. Its universal is related to the role of constructing the clauses. There are eight strategies in constructing relative clauses; 1) the non-reduction strategy, 2) the gap strategy, 3) the word order strategy, 4) the nominalization strategy, 6) the anaphoric pronoun strategy, 7) the equivalent strategy, 8) the verb-coding strategy. The constituent construction of relative clauses in most languages with VO tends to follow the pattern of main constituent followed by relative clauses. Javanese is one of the languages using the pattern VO. The basic strategy of constructing its relative clauses is by placing the main constituent befoe the relative clauses or the relative clause wiyh particle sing, kang. The particle is calld connective ligature.
