Pengaruh Faktor - Faktor Sosiolinguistis Terhadap Penggunaan Bahasa Guru dan Proses Belajar-Mengajar Bahasa Indonesi
The use of right and correct Indonesian language in accordance with its function and usage is an obligation for every Indonesian citizen, including all Indonesian language teachers. The way to arrive at the use of right and correct Indonesian language is not always smooth because of the influences of linguistic and non-linguistic factors. This research has been done in order to know: (1) how the teachers of Indonesian language use the language in the learning and teaching process in the classrooms and also (2) how the sociolinguistic factors influence them. The study was conducted against eight Indonesian language teachers in several SMAs in Manado municipality. The results show that they were still influenced by Manado Malay dialect in the form of interference and code-switching even though not in a great frequency of use. The non-standard characteristics of Indonesian language use still appear in their Indonesian language usage. The phenomena of interference, code-switching, and the non-standard characteristics of Indonesian language use are caused by the dominance or their habitual usage of Manado Malay dialect, their use of Manado Malay dialect not on purpose, the similarities between Indonesian language and Manado Malay dialect, and the factor of understanding for the sake of learning purposes in the classroom.
